What benefits am I entitled to?
Unfortunately the answer is not straightforward as the benefits system can be a confusing and time consuming process.
Below is a short overview of some of the main benefits that we deal with.
We recommend that if you wish to make a claim for Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance for yourself or on someone else’s behalf you arrange to discuss it with us first.
Disability Living Allowance
It is a non means tested benefit. It may be paid if you are aged under 65 and need help with or have difficulty with your personal care and/or walking or getting around.
Attendance Allowance
It is a non means tested benefit similar to Disability Living Allowance except it is paid if you are aged over 65 and need help or have difficulty with your personal care. No mobility component is included in this allowance.
Incapacity Benefit
You may claim if you are under state pension age and are sick or disabled and are unable to work. For any new claims from October 2010 this benefit has been replaced by Employment and Support Allowance.
Employment and Support Allowance
You may claim if you are under state pension age and are sick or disabled and unable to work.
